Evan Dong
Hi! I'm a 3rd-year PhD student in Computer Science at Cornell University, advised by Nikhil Garg and Angelina Wang.
My work focuses broadly on responsible machine learning, with particular emphasis on technical interventions informed by social theory.
I am affiliated with Cornell's Artificial Intelligence, Policy, and Practice initiative and Digital Life Initiative as a Doctoral Fellow. I am fortunate to have my work supported by the NSF GRFP.
Prior to the PhD, I worked for the AFL-CIO as a data engineer and proud member of the Washington-Baltimore News Guild (TNG-CWA Local 32035), and received my undergraduate degree from Brown University.
I am happy to chat about research, graduate school, and using technology to support labor or other social movements. You can contact me at edong [at] cs.cornell.edu.
For graduate students with workplace concerns, questions, or interest in the Cornell graduate student union, also known as CGSU-UE Local 300, please email rls@cgsu.org or fill out the form linked here.
